This is the better of the two auds for this show, and to my ears, sounds better than the soundboard with the most reviews (as I type).
The show -- what can I say? It's one of my favorite shows of the 80's (at least prior to fall 89). It's even better than the setlist suggests. Let It Grow is possibly the best stand-alone version, long, intricate, and even a little exploratory towards the end (although Colgate 77 is quite a rousing rendition). Slipknot has stunning interplay among Jerry, Brent, and Phil, although Bob is not to be heard -- either his volume was turned down or he sat out the Slipknot. Bob comes back with major contributions for Franklin's. Then comes the sweetest, dreamiest Playin' you'll hear post-77. After one of the best D>S segments, Stills comes out and, while his voice is shredded, still sets the place on fire. The rest is well-played, though nothing special. Stills comes back for Not Fade Away, but I'll take a 77 version anytime. Still, it's rare you get such a strong 1st AND second set, particularly post 77.
forgot to mention: The Franklin's may be a best-ever, in fact so might the entire HSF
